Things to know about Pubertal stress and Reproductive health

We’ve been taught to think of trauma as an emotional wound. Something you process, talk through, maybe meditate on. But I have learnt that they also print on our DNA! Let’s get to it.

The body in a bid to cope with the trauma situation, package the stress into our chromatin which will be transferred to the microbiome. It’s a literal biological pattern that the body keeps repeating, even when your conscious mind has moved on.

For years, this felt like a dead end. You could understand where the trauma came from, but that didn’t always translate to healing it. The body kept score, and understanding the score didn’t stop it from playing.

Researchers have maped exactly how trauma moves through our body as the biological relay system that keeps it active and alive. And once you understand the pathway, everything changes. You’re no longer just managing symptoms. You’re intercepting the signal itself.

Let me tell you this is not about positive thinking or willpower. It’s about understanding the actual mechanism, then methodically changing it. Get to know about how cortisol starves the vaginal microbiome of protective bacteria. And when a baby is born, it swallows those stressed pioneer bacteria which then permanently rewire the infant’s own hypothalamus through the vagus nerve.

The chain is real. But it can be intercepted!
